New Holland Lions Club member John Freimuth received the Melvin Jones Fellowship award for his 39 years of service with the club, including serving as a prior treasurer. The Melvin Jones Fellowship award is Lions Clubs International's highest award and is named for the founder of Lions Clubs International.

The New Holland Lions Club will celebrate its 100th anniversary in June. The group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at Yoder's Restaurant, 14 S. Tower Road, New Holland, at 6 p.m. New members are welcome.
