Church plans chocolate egg sale

Seven Sorrows Catholic Church in Middletown has announced its chocolate egg sale. The eggs will be sold through Easter Sunday, April 20, or as long as supplies last. Customers may purchase peanut butter, coconut, or butter cream eggs coated in either milk chocolate or dark chocolate. The hand-dipped eggs will be sold for a fee per egg.

The 2.4-ounce eggs have received regional recognition through various media outlets. In 2024, 50,000 eggs were sold through businesses, through direct orders, and at Seven Sorrows Parish. Roughly 5,000 pounds of peanut butter, 600 pounds of butter/margarine, and 3,000 pounds of chocolate were used. This year, more than 100 volunteers will be called on to prepare and distribute the eggs.

All eggs will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis while quantities last. Eggs will be sold at the Egg Store, located in the church parking lot at 280 N. Race St., Middletown. The Egg Store will be open on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 to 8 p.m., Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Fridays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and Saturdays from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., weather permitting, and while supplies last. Visitors should enter via Race Street for the safety of the school children.

Eggs may also be purchased at the parish's fish fry, as well as at several local businesses. The fish frys will be held at 5 p.m. on Fridays from March 7 to April 11. Eggs will not be sold at either the parish or the school office this year.
