Support groups plan meetings

Garden Spot Village, 433 S. Kinzer Ave., New Holland, will host support group meetings in March. The programs are free and open to the public.

Care Partner Friends in Community, for family care partners of people with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, will meet on Monday, March 10, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Concord Room. Harry and Hazel Urban will lead the program, "Real Life Discussion on Successes and Challenges of Living with Dementia and Being a Care Partner." My Fellow Travelers in Community will meet on Wednesday, March 12, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the theater. This group is for people noticing cognitive changes in themselves. For more information, call Leslie Hartman at 717-355-6076.

Compassionate Neighbors in Community will gather on Wednesday, March 19, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the theater. The group is for friends or family members of those experiencing cognitive challenges. Ashley Baker, general manager for Sodexo, Garden Spot's dining partner, will present "Food and Brain Health." Baker will share ways that food can help to keep a person's brain healthy. Parkinson's Friends in Community, for individuals with Parkinson's disease and their family members and friends, will be held on Monday, March 24, from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Garden Towers. Kathy Hinton, Parkinson's Disease Foundation ambassador, will lead a session on "Preparing Well for Expected and Unexpected Hospitalizations." To learn more, call Jenny Snyder at 717-355-6259.
