College choir to perform at Derry Church

The Lebanon Valley College Choir will perform at 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, in the sanctuary at Derry Presbyterian Church, 248 E. Derry Road, Hershey. The group will sing a variety of repertoire, including Mack Wilberg's arrangement of "Shenandoah," Eric Barnum's "The Sounding Sea," Hye-Young Cho's "Evocation," and Daniel Jackson's "Hold On."

The Lebanon Valley College Choir is a more than 60-voice, non-auditioned ensemble formed of both music and non-music majors. The choir performs at the college and tours in the spring.

Tyler Canonico-Dilley is in his third year of directing the choir. He is also an adjunct instructor of music at Lebanon Valley College, where he teaches piano classes and is the vocal director for the opera program. Canonico-Dilley serves as the minister of music and organist at Market Square Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg, where he leads an expansive music program that includes the Market Square Ringers, the Sanctuary Choir, a Choral Scholars Program, and the Market Square Singers; he is also the artistic director for Arts on the Square. Canonico-Dilley is the organist for the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra and the founder and conductor of the Harrisburg Camerata. He is the dean for the Harrisburg Chapter of the American Guild of Organists as well as the director of the AGO National Committee for Pipe Organ Encounters.

The concert is part of the church's 2024-25 Arts Alive cultural series. A freewill offering will be received. Handicapped-accessible parking and an elevator are available.
