Holy Week and Easter services set

Zion Lutheran Church, 1290 River Road, Marietta, has slated its Holy Week and Easter Sunday services.

A traditional Holy (Maundy) Thursday service will be offered on April 17 at 7 p.m. The service will include a sermon and Holy Communion. It will conclude with the stripping of the altar as the church prepares for the Passion of Christ on Good Friday, April 18.

On April 18, at 7 p.m., people may gather to hear the Passion of Christ from the Gospel of St. John, pray the ancient Bidding Prayer and conclude with the Adoration of the Cross.

Two services will be held on Easter Sunday, April 20. A sunrise service will take place at 7 a.m. in Zion's picnic pavilion, and a traditional service will start at 10:15 a.m. in Zion's worship space.

A breakfast will be available in the social hall from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Eggs, potatoes, fruit, pastries, juice, and milk will be served. Monetary donations will be received to benefit Donegal's Power Pack Program, which provides supplemental food for weekend meals for families in the Donegal School District.
