The Quarryville Community Dog Park Committee will hold the grand opening of the dog park on Saturday, May 3, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The park is located on the northeast side of Memorial Park, near the SECA pool.

The event is open to all community members and their dogs. It will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, with remarks from community leaders, along with a dog walk, a food truck, and local vendors.

The dog park was made possible through the support of the community, including a significant donation from Beverly Kreeger, in memory of her late husband, Austin Kreeger. Austin and Beverly rescued 15 dogs in their 34-year marriage. Austin was a well-known educator in the Solanco School District and was honored three times as principal of the year for Pennsylvania.

The dog park will be fully fenced, ensuring that pets can play safely without concerns about passing traffic.
