Library sets schedule

The library will be closed on Monday, May 26, for Memorial Day.

Members of the Blanketeers will gather to make blankets of various kinds for Project Linus on Tuesday, May 20, at 2 p.m.

The library will offer several ongoing programs. These activities include Knitting Club, for knitters and crocheters, on Monday, May 19, at 10 a.m. and Tuesdays, May 13 and 27, at 6 p.m.; Baked Books Club on May 13 at 2 p.m.; Lititz Game Club, for players age 10 and older, on Wednesdays, May 7 and 21, at 4:30 p.m.; Astronomy Enthusiasts of Lancaster County on May 7 at 6 p.m., featuring Michael Mumma, senior scientist emeritus at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center presenting "The Search for Life on Mars - Methane"; Painting Club on Wednesdays, May 14 and 28, at 12:30 p.m.; Great Decisions Discussion Group on May 14 at 6:30 p.m.; Exploring Growing Together on Thursdays, May 8 and 22, at 11:30 a.m.; Writing Club on May 19 at 1 p.m.; the Lititz Art Association meeting on May 27 at 6 p.m.; Accessible Yoga with Black Cat Yoga on Friday, May 23, at 10 a.m.; Red Rose Quilters Guild of Lancaster Embroidery Mini Group on May 28 at 1:30 p.m.; Sewcial Sewing Club on May 28 at 6 p.m.; and BYOB Book Club, for which attendees may bring what they are currently reading, on Thursday, May 29, at 2 p.m.

Baking Gluten Free Presentation and Cupcake Decorating, led by Erica, will take place on May 8 at 6:30 p.m. Attendees will learn basic tips for baking gluten free in their kitchens. Erica will demonstrate a technique for creating a "rainbow" effect with icing, and attendees will pipe icing onto provided gluten-free cupcakes.

Kevin Neidig and Henry Koretzky, with Aaron Blouin, will present Americana folk music during a free concert on May 29 at 6 p.m. The performers were members of the former Harrisburg Mandolin Ensemble. Registration will begin on Thursday, May 15.

Backyard Story Time will be held on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. and Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. through May 28. The program will take place outdoors, weather permitting. Registration is required weekly.

During the Paws to Read program, children may read stories to trained therapy dogs. The program will be offered on Saturdays, May 10 and 31, at 10 a.m.

A children's robotics demonstration, for children ages 5 to 12, will take place on May 14 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Warwick Middle School's robotics team, the Warwick Robotic Pretzels, an after-school robotics club, will demonstrate. Each year students are given a unique challenge, and they design, code, and build a robot from scratch to compete against other teams in the state.
