BCPL Launches Community Survey

The Berks County Public Libraries (BCPL) System is looking for public input as it begins planning for its next strategic plan. Responses for a community survey will be accepted now through Friday, Oct. 31, with library patrons and non-cardholders encouraged to submit their responses.

The survey can be found at http://www.berkslibraries.org/survey. Paper copies are available at all 23 member library locations, including the Boone Area Library in Birdsboro and the Village Library of Morgantown.

Since 1986, the BCPL System has been tasked with providing centralized support to its 19 member libraries and four branches along with facilitating community outreach partnerships and expansive program initiatives.

Notable system projects in recent years include establishing the area's first Accessibility & Supportive Learning Collection for public use with the inclusion of colorblind glasses and books in braille; partnering with community organizations to provide on-site library StoryWalks at the Reading Public Museum and Berks Nature; collaborating with Berks Heim to provide the Story Trail exhibit; outfitting libraries with updated computer software and Princh mobile printing services; and supporting member libraries in developing Library of Things collections at each location.
