EAHS Names Students of the Month

Elizabethtown Area High School (EAHS) honored Lillian Ross and Cooper Torborg as the Rotary Club Students of the Month for June. This distinction recognizes students who exemplify academic achievement, leadership, character and a commitment to serving others both in and out of the classroom.

Lillian, the daughter of Melissa Ross of Elizabethtown, is a scholar and student leader at EAHS. She was named a National Merit Scholarship semifinalist in 2025, placing her among the top academic performers in the nation. She is a member of the National Honor Society (NHS) and has earned numerous academic distinctions through the school's underclassmen awards program, including the Music Theory Award, Algebra I Award, Career & Finance Award, AP Macroeconomics Award, AP/CHS Psychology Award, Honors Chemistry I Award and Honors Chemistry II Award.

Lillian is the founder and president of the Red Cross Club and serves as president of the Model United Nations Club. She performs in the school's Music Club as a flute and piccolo player.

Lillian is a research intern at Elizabethtown College. She is also a principal dancer and teaching assistant at Silver Spring Dance Conservatory. Lillian has earned numerous community achievements, including being invited to present her research at Dynamics Days 2025 in Denver and receiving the Pennsylvania Outstanding Youth Award from the American Red Cross. She was also honored with the Blood Drive Leadership Award and the Elizabethtown DAR Good Citizen Award.

Lillian plans to attend a four-year university to major in biochemistry and eventually earn a Ph.D. in pharmaceutical sciences, with the goal of pursuing a career in medical research.

Cooper, the son of Ryan and Tessa Torborg of Marietta, is a student leader and active contributor to the school community and his church. He is a member of NHS and has earned the Administrative Leadership Award for the 2023-24 school year and underclassmen awards in Business/Personal Law, Honors Algebra 2, Honors General Science and French II. He has been named to the honor roll every semester of high school.

Cooper serves as a leader of both the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Bible Club. He is also a member of the Student Council; a mentor for incoming freshmen through the Jumpstart program; and participates in volleyball, orchestra, pit orchestra and concert choir. He has been named a Lancaster-Lebanon League Section 2 Volleyball All-Star twice and received an honorable mention on the District 3 All-Star team. He is also a four-time participant in the county orchestra.

Cooper is an active member of Mount Calvary Church, where he serves in the children's ministry every Sunday and participates in the church youth group. He also performs in a local band, playing violin and guitar and singing. Cooper plays club volleyball for Prevail Volleyball Club.

Cooper plans to attend college to pursue a degree in business with a focus on information technology.
