Author to speak about Lafayette

Historic Rock Ford, 881 Rockford Road, Lancaster, will host a presentation and book signing on Wednesday, April 30, at 5:30 p.m. The program will be held in the Langmuir Education Room located on the first floor of the barn.

Bruce Mowday will provide an overview of the life of the Marquis de Lafayette before, during, and after the Revolutionary War. The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session and the book signing.

This event is part of Historic Rock Ford's 2025 Lafayette Lecture Series in conjunction with the 200th anniversary of Lafayette's farewell tour of America.

Mowday is an award-winning author and newspaper reporter. He has written more than 25 books on history, sports, business, and true crime, including "Lafayette at Brandywine: The Making of an American Hero" and "Lafayette: America's Young Hero and Guest." Mowday has been featured on numerous television and radio shows and has served in leadership roles at the Chester County Historical Society, the Brandywine Battlefield Park Associates, the Valley Forge Park Alliance, and the Chester County Conference and Visitors Bureau.
