Program on Wampum Belts Set

Sadsbury Friends Meeting House, 1089 Simmontown Road, Gap, will host a presentation by Barry Lee on Saturday, July 12, at 10 a.m.

Barry Lee, the executive director of Circle Legacy Center, will speak about wampum belts and William Penn's agreements with the Lenape and other native Pennsylvania tribes. Wampum belts are made from quahog clam and welk shell and serve as a record of the agreements made between the native tribes and new settlers from Europe.
