Ham Radio License Preparation Class Offered

The Southern Pennsylvania Amateur Radio Club (SPARC), 1715 Breneman Road, Manheim, will present a ham radio license preparation class.

The class will begin on Thursday, July 17, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and it will continue every Thursday for seven weeks. The upcoming class provides the knowledge and resources necessary to prepare for and pass the technician license exam.

The instructors will be experienced SPARC members. Attendees will receive radio comprehensive coverage of the material for the technician class license exam; guidance on radio theory, regulations and operating practices; tips and resources to aid studying; and opportunities to connect with experienced ham radio operators, called Elmers, who can offer mentorship.

There is no cost for the class. There is a fee to take the exam upon completion of the course, as well as an FCC application fee for those who pass the test.
