Common Sense Group Sets Picnic

The community group Common Sense will hold its annual picnic on Sunday, July 27, from 4 to 7 p.m. in Pavilion 5 at Elizabethtown Community Park, 300 S. Spruce St., Elizabethtown.

Community members are invited to attend. Parking is available at Elizabethtown Mennonite Church, and Pavilion 5 is located between the church and Verdant Alley. Hot dogs, sides, desserts, and drinks will be provided, and there will be a playground and activities for children. Common Sense is a nonprofit that supports public education in the local school district through donations, communication education, and advocacy. Common Sense donates money to the Elizabethtown Area School District to support various programs, holds drives to collect supplies, and plans teacher appreciation events at the high school.The group holds meetings on the third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. at Christ Church United Church of Christ, 247 S. Market St., Elizabethtown, and its next meeting is Tuesday, Aug. 19. Community members who are interested in supporting public education are encouraged to join. The group's next supply drive will be held in August, and anyone wishing to donate school supplies may contact etowncommonsense@gmail.com.
