Church To Host Music Groups, Potluck

Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren, 777 S. Mount Joy St., Elizabethtown, will present the Walking Roots Band and the Soil and the Seed Project on Sunday, Sept. 14. There will be three opportunities to experience the performers.

The Soil and the Seed Project will lead music during the Intergenerational Faith Formation Class at 9:15 a.m. It will also lead music during worship starting at 10:30 a.m.

At 11:30 a.m., there will be a potluck lunch in the fellowship hall. Visitors can bring a hot or cold dish to share.

An outside concert featuring the Walking Roots Band will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. The Walking Roots Band is an acoustic, American folksy, bluegrass-type, roots music group from Harrisonburg, Va. The band, steeped in Anabaptist hymn singing traditions, travels part time when other life activities permit.

In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the sanctuary. Attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets.

The public is invited to all portions of the day's activities. Donations will be received, and all proceeds will support the Soil and the Seed Project, which aims to help nurture faith for prekindergarten through eighth-grade students.
