Fall Afresh will offer lots of family fun

Bring the family out to Fall Afresh on Saturday, Sept. 21, for food, fun and fellowship. The event will be held at the Elizabethtown Fairgrounds, 900 E. High St., from 1 to 6 p.m.

As event organizer Gabrielle Lehman shared, the event will offer a variety of activities, many returning from last year's celebration.

"We will have live music, food trucks, family-oriented events again like face and pumpkin painting, a bounce house, a hay wagon ride and other activities," she said. "The hay bale toss will be back again, which seemed pretty popular. We also have fellow ministries who will run games as well. The (giveaway) will also be returning, and we just confirmed our sponsor from last year will be donating another $500 Visa gift card grand prize to bless another lucky person or family."

Fall Afresh is hosted by The Well Ministries, a nonprofit organization with the goal of promoting music and giving artists the chance to perform in front of people. The event began on a much smaller scale at a local farm but has since grown into a community-wide celebration.

"All of us on the board live here in Elizabethtown and love it dearly," Lehman shared. "We want to give our fellow Etownians a nice afternoon to get out and have fun and to showcase our area's talent musically, artistically and our small businesses that make us special."

This year's festivities will feature more musical performers than last year, she said, and will feature free bottled water and popcorn during the event while supplies last. Musical performers will include Elijah Myers, Awake Collective and the worship team from Encounter Church in Palmyra.

Fall Afresh would not be possible without the generosity of sponsors, Lehman noted. This year's event is sponsored by Top Hat Fibers and Sewing and Phillip Stumpf, Realtor with Kingsway Realty, among others.

Sponsorships help to keep the cost of the event low, Lehman said, adding that it's a priority for the event organizers.

"We have loved holding this event every time purely for the joy of seeing our community come out and have some fun with their friends and family," she commented. "We keep as much of it no- or low-cost as possible, specifically because everyone should be allowed to have fun at a fair, and finances are messy right now for everyone. Come out and just spend an afternoon with us and see what our area has to offer."

The organizers are still seeking vendors for the event. People who are interested in learning more may search for "Fall Afresh 2024" on Facebook.
