Choir Festival to benefit MTAA

St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church will host a Choir Festival on Sunday, May 18, at 4 p.m., for the benefit of the Manheim Township Ambulance Association (MTAA). The event will feature choruses of adults and children from the community under the direction of Tom Berdos, music director at St. Peter's, and accompanied by Deborah Berdos, St. Peter's organist.

The program will include music from many traditions, including gospel, popular hymns, contemporary and classical sacred music. The concert will also feature professional singers Christyan Seay, tenor, and Richard Zuch, bass. Special instrumental music will be provided by members of the Lancaster British Brass Band and Auscultation Brass; Joselyn Crosby, flutist; and Gary Troxell, clarinetist.

According to Shawn Watrous, director of operations for MTAA, funds from last year's Choir Festival allowed MTAA to replace life-saving equipment, including advanced and intermediate life support first-in bags and oxygen caddies.

St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church is located at 10 Delp Road, Lancaster. The Choir Festival is part of St. Peter's Musical Arts Series.
