Historic Rudy's Hall To Celebrate 125th Anniversary

Historic Rudy's Hall, 27-31 E. Main St., Lititz, will celebrate its quasquiccentennial - or 125th anniversary - with several events in November. "Dancing Through the Eras" events will be held on Wednesday evenings in the event space on the second floor of the hall.

On Nov. 5 from 7 to 9 p.m., the Moonlighters Big Band will perform. Attendees may swing dance to music from the 1920s to '50s. Donations, given online or at the door, will benefit the Warwick Community Hub, which connects families with needed resources. For more information on the hub, visit http://www.warwick-hub.org.

Attendees may dance to music from The Fabulous Greaseband on Nov. 12 from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets may be purchased in advance online or at the door. A portion of ticket proceeds will benefit Lititz veteran organizations.

On Nov. 19 from 7 to 10 p.m., people may dance to the sounds of soft rock and other genres from the all-female Keri Edwards Band. Donations, given online or at the door, will benefit the North Star Initiative, which works to end human trafficking and empower survivors to reclaim their lives. A night of country line dancing with music from Jake's Rockin' Country Band will take place on Nov. 26 from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door until sold out. A portion of ticket proceeds will benefit Lititz first responders.

The hall's second floor is ADA compliant and can be reached from the Main Street entrance up the front staircase or from the back entrance by the rear parking lot off of North Lane, which leads to an elevator and rear staircase.

In 1900, Miles Rudy, a philanthropic town butcher, had the vision to build a town hall for the Lititz community directly across from his residence and business on Main Street. Today, the brick building, completely restored with modern amenities, is a centralized hub for business offices, newly enhanced event space, and Beccafico Gourmet Italian Restaurant.
