West Hempfield Fire & Rescue, 3476 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, will present Saturday with Santa on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Photos with Santa will be by donation. Every child will receive a special token from Santa himself.

Also as part of the event, attendees will be able to shop from vendors, mail a letter to the elves at the North Pole, take part in holiday crafts, learn holiday fire safety tips and enjoy free cookies.

The event will benefit the volunteer fire department. Funds will be used for new firefighter gear, equipment, training and basic building maintenance.

In addition to this event, Tara Moyer, the department's event coordinator, was able to host a holiday bus trip to New York City. With profits from the sold-out trip, the department was able to help four families within the Hempfield School District with Thanksgiving meals, assist two families who recently went through tragedy with their Christmas wish list and sponsor 15 additional children to help brighten their holidays.
