The Promise Players will hold auditions at Lampeter Church of the Brethren, 1900 Lampeter Road, Lancaster, on Sunday, Jan. 11, from 2 to 7 p.m. for the group's spring musical, "Simon Says: The Rockin' Trial of Simon Peter."

The play will be performed from Thursdays to Sundays, March 12 to 15 and 19 to 22, and is set in a courtroom where Simon Peter is on trial for claiming Jesus was God on Earth. Many eyewitnesses will testify in the trial, with plenty of recognizable characters and a wide variety of classic rock-style songs.

More than 20 speaking roles and solos are available, as well as large group singing. Roles are available for people from second grade through senior citizens. Those auditioning should come prepared to read from the script, demonstrate vocal range, and sing one verse of "Amazing Grace." They may arrive early to complete the audition form and look over the audition scenes.
