Historical Society Plans Programs

The East Petersburg Historical Society (EPHS) has announced its speaker programs for 2026. Members of the public are invited to hear historians speaking about topics relating to the East Petersburg history and people. The programs will be held on select Mondays at 7 p.m. at the East Petersburg Community Center Building at East Petersburg Community Park, 6051 Pine St., East Petersburg.

The first program of the year on March 2 will feature Mike and Jeanne Cassidy from Penn State Extension, who will present "Working Gardens in the 19th Century Pennsylvania Dutch Country."

A "Show and Tell" will be featured on April 6. Attendees are asked to bring their favorite antique or any item of East Petersburg history to share.

The program "Historic German Houses of Southeast Pennsylvania" will be presented by Greg Huber on May 4. This event is also the annual EPHS member meeting.

The program "50 Years of the East Petersburg Historical Society: How It Began" will be featured on June 1.

"Hauntings of East Petersburg and Lancaster County," a presentation by Corey April, will take place on Oct. 5.

In addition, the EPHS archive museum at the Daniel Wolf House, 1905 State St., East Petersburg, is open to the public on the first Saturday of every month from 9 a.m. to noon.
