Cure Cabin Fever at an Indoor Yard Sale

March may not have the best weather for traditional yard sales, but if you're itching to pick up a bargain, Ruhl's Church has you covered. The church will host its annual indoor yard sale on Saturday, March 7, from 7 to 11 a.m. It will be held at Ruhl's Church, 4810 Elizabethtown Road, Manheim.

"There will be over 30 different stand holders participating in the event, and there will be something for everyone," said Kris Gray, one of the event organizers. Items for sale will include collectibles, household items, antiques, toys, books and tools.

In addition to yard sale stands, there will be a food stand with a wide variety of items for sale, including egg sandwiches, homemade chicken corn noodle soup, hot dogs, barbecue sandwiches, baked goods and assorted beverages.

"Back again this year will be a table of new and used Bibles and devotional books for all ages that will be offered at no charge," Gray said. She noted that shoppers may also sign up to be added to the church's email list to learn about upcoming events and to be entered to win a Weis gift card.

Proceeds from stand holder donations and the food stand help fund the missions and ministry activities of the Sunshine adult Sunday school class.

"This class organizes and distributes food boxes for local families in need at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter; supports our church's participation in Samaritan's Purse shoeboxes at Christmas; as well as hosts a special banquet for our senior citizens," Gray said. "The class also sends cards to shut-ins and supports four local ministries, an overseas missionary and mission trips sponsored by the church."

This is the 26th year for the indoor yard sale.

"Even if you feel you do not need anything, come and enjoy the delicious food offered by our food stand and support some great ministries," Gray remarked. "This winter has been particularly cold and snowy, so this is an excellent chance to get out and shake off that cabin fever."

Ruhl's Church holds worship services on Sundays at 8 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday school for people of all ages is offered at 9:15 a.m. During Lent, Wednesday night suppers are held at 6 p.m., followed by a study series. These sessions will take place from Feb. 25 through March 25.

Purchase of items and food at the yard sale is by cash only. Free parking is available in a large lot on the church property, and the church is handicapped-accessible. Pets are prohibited in the building, as is smoking.

For more information on the event, call the church office at 717-665-3400. Stand registration is full for this year, but people may contact the church to reserve a stand for the 2027 sale.
