Jarred Stoner and Abigail Ill have been selected as February's Seniors of the Month at Manheim Central High School.

The Girls of the Month are sponsored by the Manheim Women's Club and are recognized at the club's meeting, which includes a speaker, refreshments, and a recognition gift. The Boys of the Month are sponsored by the Rotary Club of Manheim. Both students are invited to attend a luncheon at Pleasant View Town Square North held in the Hearth and Harrow dining room during the month they are chosen. Seniors of the Month are chosen by the professional staff of the high school based on academic achievement, character, and involvement within the school and community.

Jarred, 17, is the son of Jenn and Dave Stoner of Manheim. He serves as the Interact co-president, Student Council co-president, Science Club co-president, and Science Olympiad vice president. He is also a member of Spanish Club, National Honor Society, Science National Honor Society, and Math Honor Society.

In his spare time, Jarred volunteers for various community activities through the Interact Club, including doing crafts with kids at Home on Ferdinand, running elementary school events, and helping with the Manheim Farm Show.

Jarred's future plans are to attend a four-year college to study neuroscience or human biology. Upon college graduation, he plans to go to medical school to become a pediatric neurologist.

Abigail, 17, is the daughter of Andrew and Rebecca Ill of Manheim. She is a member of FFA and has held the offices of sentinel, reporter, and treasurer. She has won several awards through FFA, including Chapter Leadership, Chapter Scholarship, and Chapter Service, and has obtained the Greenhand, Chapter, Keystone, and Red Rose degrees.

Outside of school, Abigail is active in her church. She serves as the church secretary, participates in youth group, and occasionally helps to run the Sunday morning services. She also helps with the Manheim Farm Show and volunteers at her church for three or four days during the month of June.

Abby wants to own her own bakery someday.
