Library Posts April Schedule

Kreutz Creek Library (KCL), 66 Walnut Springs Road, Hellam, will offer programs and services to the community. For details and registration, call the library at 717-252-4080 or visit http://www.yorklibraries.org.

The Friends of Kreutz Creek Library will be at the library to accept donations on Tuesday, April 7, from noon to 6 p.m. and Thursday, April 16, from noon to 4 p.m.

The Friends will also hold a spring used book, jigsaw puzzle, and bake sale on Friday, April 24, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hellam Township Municipal Building, across Walnut Springs Road from the library.

KCL's upcoming programs include Baby and Toddler Story Time for children from birth to age 3 on Wednesdays, April 8 to 29, and Preschool Story Time for children ages 3 to 5 on Fridays, April 3 to 24. These programs will run from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., and reservations are required.

Library Tales for Tails will take place on April 16 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Children ages 6 to 11 may read to certified therapy dogs, and participants may also pet and hug the dogs. People may sign up for a 10-minute time slot when they arrive.

The Builder's Club, for children ages 6 to 11, will meet on April 16 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 18, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.

The Danger Club, for tweens ages 9 to 11, will meet on April 7 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The Library Squad, for people ages 9 to 18, will gather on Tuesday, April 14, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Manga Book Club for youths ages 12 to 18 will meet on April 18 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. This program will occur after the library is closed to the public. Only teens attending this program will be allowed inside.

The Spoiler Alert! teen group, for teens ages 12 to 18, will meet on April 7 from 5 to 6 p.m. via Zoom. The group reads teen books and posts reviews to Instagram and YouTube. Reservations are required.

Stitch and Chat groups, for knitters and crocheters, will meet on Thursdays, April 2 and 16, from 6 to 7:45 p.m. and Wednesdays, April 8 and 22, from noon to 1:45 p.m.

York Chess Club, for people of all ages, will be held on Tuesdays, April 7, 14, and 21, from 6 to 8 p.m.

A Death Cafe Book Club will be held on April 14 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Andrea Williams, a bereavement counselor with Grane Hospice, will lead attendees in discussing "The Swedish Art of Death Cleaning" by Margareta Magnusson. The program is designed to provide comfort and a supportive environment to those struggling with loss. Registration is required, and copies of the book are available for checkout at the library.

A Silent Book Club, for people age 13 or older, will take place on April 2 from 6 to 7:45 p.m. The program will feature trivia, refreshments, reading, and book talk.

The Silent Book Club will also gather for a potluck meal on April 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. Attendees are asked to bring a food or beverage to share. The event will include book discussion and games, and it will followed by an hour of quiet reading time. New members are welcome.

The Pop-Up Book Club will meet on April 7 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. to discuss the books of Sandra Brown, who is scheduled to visit the Appell Center for the Performing Arts in York in the upcoming weeks.

The Green Thumb Garden Club will meet on Thursday, April 9, from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. Melanie Markowski will share "Plant Your Own Cutting Garden of Mostly Annual Flowers."

The Friends of Kreutz Creek Library will meet on Monday, April 20, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.
