Yard Sale to Benefit Mission Work in Peru

Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church, 1199 Valley Road, Quarryville, will hold an indoor and outdoor yard sale on Saturday, April 18, from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. The indoor sale will be held rain or shine. In the case of inclement weather, the outdoor sale will take place on Saturday, May 2.

The items at the indoor sale will be donated by church members. People may reserve a 10-by-10-foot space in the outdoor sale for a fee by calling 717-381-9947.

The indoor sale will feature dozens of tables filled with items, and the outdoor sale will include more than 20 vendors. Food will be available to purchase. Joyfully Made Fellowship, a ministry for people with special needs, will be on-site for attendees to purchase items and learn more about the ministry.

At 1 p.m., most of the remaining items will be available for free.

The yard sale has been held annually for more than 30 years. Proceeds from the yard sale will help support the church's ongoing work along the Amazon River in Peru. Middle Octorara Presbyterian Church has been working with the people in that area since 2005 and has provided mosquito nets, water filtration systems, anti-parasite medicine, and many medical supplies. Several church members and friends have traveled to the Amazon to provide hands-on help and have held a Bible school in the village of Tamshiyacu. The goal of the mission work is to share the Gospel and the love of Jesus Christ to the people of the Amazon.

Those with questions may call the church at 717-786-3402 or Dan Henry at 717-381-9947.
