Program to Focus on Revolutionary War

Historic Rock Ford, 881 Rock Ford Road, Lancaster, will continue its America250 Lecture Series with a presentation, "Revolutionary Lancaster," on Monday, April 20, at 7 p.m. by Benton G. Webber. The program will take place in the Langmuir Education Room, located on the first floor of the Rock Ford Barn.

Webber will explain that, although Lancaster County was not the site of any military battles during the Revolutionary War, the community was impacted in numerous ways. Webber will speak about life in the county 250 years ago and how it was turned upside down by the war.

Webber is a civil engineer whose historical interests focus on changes to the community's environment and the development of its infrastructure. He frequently offers in-person presentations and online posts about the history of the Conestoga River and the Lincoln Highway. Webber is involved in the preservation of historic resources, and he is president of the Manheim Township Historical Society.
