Dick Vermeil Speaks at United Way Event

Chester County United Way welcomed Pro Football Hall of Fame coach Dick Vermeil at the Corporate Sponsor Reception on March 31. Local business leaders and community partners gathered for the evening event at the offices of Brumbaugh Wealth Management, located within Eagleview Corporate Center.

The reception was held in appreciation of sponsors supporting the 2026 Chester County United Way Golf Classic, which will take place on Monday, April 27, at Penn Oaks Golf Club. The reception featured networking, hors d'oeuvres, drinks, and an opportunity for sponsors to meet Vermeil.

Vermeil, a well-known figure in the Philadelphia sports community, built a notable career in the National Football League (NFL). As head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, he led the team to the NFL championship following the 1980 season. Over a 15-year NFL coaching career, Vermeil also led the St. Louis Rams to victory in the 2000 NFL championship and guided the Kansas City Chiefs to an American Football Conference (AFC) West title. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2022. He is also involved in philanthropy and youth-focused initiatives.

The annual Golf Classic raises funds to support Chester County United Way's initiatives focused on financial stability, youth opportunity, and community impact. Through strategic partnerships, programs, and community engagement, the organization works to improve lives and strengthen communities throughout Chester County.
