The Christmas Truce

It was in December 1914 and I was sent to the front line. It was a cold night in the trenches. Me and a bunch of my friends started a fire and we told our stories of war. It was a long night last night. One of my war friends Noah heard we were singing that morning. We were singing Silent Night.  Later we saw a tree coming out of the German trench. They hung their ornaments on it. Then one of the Germans got out of their trench. A couple minutes went by and there were so many people on No Man's Land. Soldiers were trading gear. There even was a soccer game too. I didn't score but my team won. After that we went back to war for a couple months. I got to go back home to my family. I won’t ever have to fight again.
