Christmas
By Ava Thomas
When it's time for Christmas, the family goes wild! Gingerbread cookies make the house smell great, the beautiful Christmas lights are everywhere, and snowmen are outside. “I love Christmas,’’ Ben said, smiling.
“It’s my favorite holiday,” I said as mom pulled the cookies out of the oven.
Tonight was Christmas Eve night. All of the family is coming over and we’ll bake, make snowmen, and read the Santa Claus story. Just then our cousins walk in the door.
“Hello,” we say. We are all excited so everyone gathers around and dad starts reading… “Wow, that was awesome Annalise!”
“Yes, time to go,” Aunt Sally says. “Bye!” we said.
Ben, Nick, and Ava put cookies and milk out for Santa. After we did that we
hopped in bed and quickly fell asleep…
Tap, tap, tap. I heard something. “Wake up!!! It's Christmas morning.” Mom and dad are still asleep.
“Wake up,” we tell them. When we got them up, we went downstairs. There's so many presents! But first, dad reads us the Christmas story of Jesus. After he’s done we dig in.
“Wow,” I got a gymnastics beam and a mat. Then we open the rest of our presents! I want to play with my new Lego set. I open it. Time to get started!
