Introduction to Nature Journaling

Sep 7

Like the ecosystems around us, nature journaling has diverse expressions.
It does not matter whether we consider ourselves “artistic”: engaging in journaling invites us to pay closer attention to the natural world. It provides a personalized means of study, place-making, meditation, creative craft, and scientific analysis all at once!

In a very relaxed atmosphere, we will take to the landscape and learn to record the plants we see using a variety of mark making techniques. Absolutely no drawing experience is necessary!

In addition, we will talk about simple botanical terms and also view some other types of botanical journal structures. Whether you’re an active journaler looking to expand your toolkit or hope to start journaling for the first time, you’ll leave with a set of skills and ideas for continuing to connect with nature through journaling.
This class will be held on September 7 from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m.
