Jamanis Spring concert series

Fresh off their tour from Central Europe the mother and son duo of Frances Veri, piano and Michael Jamanis, violin will present the second concert in the Jamanis spring series sponsored by the Lancaster Catholic High fine and performing arts department.
The performance will take place on May 7th at 7:30 p.m. at the Fondersmith Hall chapel of holy Trinity Church in downtown Lancaster.
The mother and son Jamanis Duo will be joined by local favorites, Matthew woodson, percussion and Genevieve Chapin,bass to perform excerpts from the suite for violin and jazz piano trio by Claude Bolling.
Woodson and Chapin are both well known to Lancaster audiences through their musical activities with Music for Everyone, Fulton theater and other regional companies.
May is celebrating Asian American Pacific Islander heritage. Also on the program will be Asian American violin studies, works by Francis Wong, a Chinese American composer hailing from San Francisco rooted in jazz and activism.
Another contemporary composer will be rounding out the program, featuring Lancaster native Richard Field's Flight of Fancy. The Jamanis Duo will perform the second half of this suite that was introduced at the earlier concert on April 16th.

This special performance will be held on May 7 at 7:30 p.m. in Fondersmith Hall, at the Chapel of Holy Trinity Church, 31 South Duke Street, downtown Lancaster.
Joining the duo are local favorites Matthew Woodson on percussion and Genevieve Chapin on bass, as they perform excerpts from Claude Bolling’s Suite for Violin and Jazz Piano Trio.
Both Woodson and Chapin are well known to Lancaster audiences through their work with Music for Everyone, the Fulton Theatre, and other regional arts organizations.
In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, the program will also include Asian American Violin Studies, a work by Francis Wong, a Chinese American composer from San Francisco, whose music blends jazz and activism.
Also included is Flight of Fancy by Lancaster native Richard Field, of which the first half was performed previously at their April 16 concert.
