Our program will begin at 7pm on Tuesday June 18th . We welcome Robert Lescallette, local historian. He co-founded the Maytown Historical Society and wrote the town's history. He organized St. John's Lutheran Church's archives and conducted countless tours of the town, the church, and our cemetery.
Tonight he will discuss Simon Cameron. His interest in Simon Cameron was spurred by living in a parsonage which was given to our church by him in 1881. He also grew up in Harrisburg which has Cameron Street , the Cameron mansions, the Cameron Parkway etc. He has even given a lecture on the great man to the Dauphin County Historical Society .
