The Humane Society of Harrisburg Area (HSHA) will continue its New Year's Day tradition by starting 2022 with a splash during the Penguin Plunge. The 25th anniversary event will take place in the icy waters of the Susquehanna River on City Island Beach, 10 N. Second St., Harrisburg, on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022. Registration will begin at 10 a.m. at the Carousel Pavilion, and the plunge will take place at noon at the beachfront.

HSHA hopes to raise $25,000. Participants are asked to raise a minimum of $40. Individuals who raise a minimum of $75 will receive an exclusive 25th anniversary towel.
