4-H Plans Summer Camps

Dauphin County 4-H has announced that its summer camps for children and youths ages 8 to 18 will be virtual this year. Participants will have opportunities for interaction with others as well as independent, hands-on learning at home via a kit that will be provided to each registered camper. Organizers strongly encourage campers to attend all sessions of their camp.

For all camps, a kit unboxing video will be available for participants to watch individually between Monday, May 24, and Friday, May 28. All camp meetings will take place via Zoom at 5 p.m.

Spicy Salsa will meet on Tuesdays, June 1, June 15, June 29, July 13, and Aug. 17. Participants will grow their own salsa garden and learn about plant science and nutrition.

Bee's Knees Pollinators will take place on Thursdays, June 3, June 17, July 1, July 15, and Aug. 19. Campers will grow their own wildflower variety from seed. Participants will learn about plant science and pollinators.

Catch a Falling Star will occur on Wednesdays, June 2, June 16, June 30, July 14, and Aug. 11. Campers will learn about space science and astronomy through interactive learning.

There is a fee per camper for each camp. To register by Wednesday, May 19, contact Linda at 717-921-7622 or lmk8@psu.edu. The camp kit will be sent to participants after payment is received.

Anyone who anticipates needing an accommodation or who has questions about the physical access provided may call 717-921-8803 in advance of their participation or visit.
