Lady Bears' Track Team Tops Garden Spot

Most teams have big end of season goals, like winning a league title or making district and state playoffs but a simple goal that is universally strived for is winning the final game of the season.

The girl's track team did just that on May 10, topping Garden Spot 85-65 in the season finale. A trio of Lady Bears paved the way with two event wins apiece starting with Carly Sedun leading sweeps in both the shot put and discus. Genevieve McDonald did her work in the sprints, taking the 100m and 200m while Madeline Quinn claimed the 800m and the 1600m title. Elizabethtown came up just short of a relay sweep, settling for wins in the 400m and 1600m relays. The Lady Bears final two wins came in the field with Zoey Myers taking the javelin and Megan Handshew the pole vault.

On the boy's side, the Bears were unable to top Spot, falling 95-54. Three Bears accounted for all seven individual wins with the 400m relay team helping out.
