JBT donates funds to support Power Packs Project
Jonestown Bank & Trust Co. (JBT) recently made a $10,000 donation to Power Packs Project to help in the organization's efforts to serve food-insecure households in Lancaster and Lebanon counties.
The donation was presented to Power Packs Project executive director Brad Peterson and Rebekah Carter, Power Packs program coordinator - Lebanon, by JBT representatives Tori Layser, Jessica Francis, Ashley Hess and Troy A. Peters.
Power Packs provides nutritious food and meal preparation skills to teach families how to stretch their food dollars, with low-cost recipes and ingredients that enable families to cook a meal for under $10.
Recognized as an Educational Improvement Organization, Power Packs has partnered with school districts in Lancaster County (Lampeter-Strasburg, Manheim Township, Penn Manor, School District of Lancaster and Warwick) and Lebanon County (Annville-Cleona, Cornwall-Lebanon, Eastern Lebanon County, Lebanon and Northern Lebanon) to provide weekend meals for students and their families. In addition, Power Packs has affiliate programs in Cocalico, Columbia, Donegal and Hempfield school districts in Lancaster County.
