Series to feature films chosen by community leaders

The Red Rose Film Festival, in partnership with Penn Cinema, invites the public to a Curated Film Series at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays from Sept. 27 through Oct. 18 at Penn Cinema, 541 Airport Road, Lititz. Each week, a Lancaster County business or artistic community leader will introduce a film that he or she has selected for its special, life-altering, professional or personal influence.

The series will begin on Sept. 27, when Cheila Huettner and Leigh Lindsay, entrepreneurs and owners of Zoetropolis Cinema Stillhouse, will host "Delicatessen." Filmmakers Andrew and Carley Bilindabagabo of INGOMA Films will introduce "The Gods Must Be Crazy" on Oct. 4, and "Rocky" will be introduced by Josh Enck, president and chief story officer at Sight & Sound Ministries, on Oct. 11. The series will conclude on Oct. 18 with "The Pursuit of Happyness," selected by Jaime Arroyo, CEO of ASSETS Lancaster.

There is an admission fee, and seating is first-come, first-served.

In addition to the curated film series, the Red Rose Film Festival will hold its annual exhibition of independent films on First Friday, Nov. 3, and Saturday, Nov. 4, offering public screenings of final selections from the more than 150 submitted films, originating from 25 countries around the globe. The chosen films will be screened at Zoetropolis Cinema Stillhouse, 112 N. Water St., Lancaster; Lancaster Southern Market, 100 S. Queen St., Lancaster; and North Museum, 400 College Ave., Lancaster.
