The Women's Garden Club of Lancaster County will meet on Thursday, Nov. 16, at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 301 St. Thomas Road, Lancaster. The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. and will include a program titled "History and Mystery of Common Plants."

Holly List, a Master Gardener emeritus, will describe the time-honored language of plants from Mohammed's and Napoleon's favorites to those in local gardens. Attendees will learn about greenery-related old-time beliefs concerning healing, love and more.

Guests are welcome to attend for a nominal donation.
