Ayala, Orr win titles; Boland, Clawson hit 100

- photos by Mona Steinhauer and Bob Diller Penn Manor’s Kenzie Wolpert was a double winner in the Comets’ 94-72 triumph over McCaskey Thursday, Jan. 25. Wolpert won both the 200 IM and the 100 freestyle.

- Penn Manor’s Noah Reen clocked a 1:01.32 to win the backstroke and also claimed the 50 free in the Comets’ 110-47 loss to McCaskey Thursday, Jan. 25.
- Penn Manor’s Brooklyn Ayala earned a 6-3 decision over McCaskey’s Shateyah Pettway to claim the 235-pound title at the first L-L League girl’s wrestling championships at Manheim Township, Friday and Saturday, Jan. 26-27.
- Penn Manor’s Gavin Boland (left) and Travis Clawson recently went over the 100 career wins mark. Boland pinned Cedar Crest’s Eddit Nunez on Wednesday, Jan. 24 while Clawson pinned Hempfield’s Charlie Williams in the opening round of the L-L League Championships, Friday, Jan. 26.
- Caden Boland, who pinned Hempfield’s Julian Brito in the opening round of the Lancaster-Lebanon League championships Friday, Jan. 26 at Manheim Township, finished in third place after posting a 18-11 decision over CV’s Sean Morley.
- The Comets’ Anisa Orr collected three straight falls, all in 31 seconds or less, to earn the 142-pound crown at the first L-L League championships held at Manheim Township Friday and Saturday, Jan. 26-27.
- Juanita Blake (124) placed third
- Ethan Farmer (133) placed fifth
- Madison Wagner (170) placed second
- Ben Paterson (145) placed eighth
