Ruble, Akala punch ticket to states

February 28, 2024

- Teagan Ruble of Conestoga Valley decisioned Calvin Myers of Waynesboro 8-4 in their 145-pound bout at the District Three Class AAA Championships at Spring Grove High School on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23-24. Ruble claimed fourth-place hardware on his way to qualifying for states.
- Caden Yanarella of Conestoga Valley tries to control Waynesboro’s Steve Howard in their 121-pound bout at the District Three Class AAA Championships at Spring Grove High School on Friday and Saturday, February 23-24. Yanarella notched a 10-6 triumph over Howard.
- Tanner Kane of Conestoga Valley tries to escape from Ian Longenberger of Boiling Springs during 139-pound action at the District Three Class AAA Championships at Spring Grove High School on Friday and Saturday, February 23-24. Kane endured a tough 8-7 loss to Longenberger.
- Conestoga Valley’s Abdoul Akala tries to maintain control of Alaa Aly of Central Dauphin East during their 172-pound bout at the District Three Class AAA Championships at Spring Grove on Friday and Saturday, February 23-24. Akala edged Aly 5-3 on his way to a fourth-place finish that qualified him for states.
- Conestoga Valley’s Tai Stoltzfus pinned Lampeter-Strasburg’s Collin Shelley at the 1:49 mark of their heavyweight battle at the District Three Class AAA Championships at Spring Grove High School on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23-24. Stoltzfus finished sixth at his weight class.
- Conestoga Valley’s Luke Needham tries to turn Lane Johnson of New Oxford in their 160-pound match at the District Three Class AAA Championships at Spring Grove High School on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23-24. Needham recorded a 15-0 technical fall.
