The Mennonite Children's Choir of Lancaster (MCCL) is looking for singers for its spring concert series, "Songs of Joy and Restoration." Open rehearsals will be held on Tuesday, April 21, for prospective members and their parents. Guests will experience a live rehearsal, meet choir leaders, connect with current singers, and enjoy a light snack.

Open rehearsals will be available for children entering grades two through five from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Neffsville Mennonite Church, 2371 Lititz Pike, Lancaster; for those entering grades six through eight from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Neffsville Mennonite Church; and for those entering grades nine through 12 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Blossom Hill Mennonite Church, 333 Delp Road, Lancaster.

"Songs of Joy and Restoration" traces both the joys and sorrows of life through music that celebrates God's goodness. Audiences will hear energetic selections such as "Hearts Beat Together" by Emilio Sole‑Sempere, Henry Purcell's "Sound the Trumpet," and Ken Berg's "Galop," alongside reflective works, including George Frideric Handel's "Surely, He Hath Borne Our Griefs," Andrew Peterson's "Behold the Lamb of God," and Elaine Hagenberg's "Alleluia." The program will conclude with Keith Hampton's gospel anthem "Praise His Holy Name!"

MCCL serves more than 150 children and youths from nearly 50 schools, 40 congregations, and 15 denominations. An auxiliary program of Lancaster Mennonite School, MCCL seeks to nurture musical excellence while fostering character and community.
