AACA Museum To Memorialize Betty White

The AACA Museum Inc. will memorialize Betty White, who died on Dec. 31, 2021, at the age of 99, on Sunday, Jan. 16, with "Betty White Day at the Museum." The event planned originally as a birthday celebration will now honor the actress's life and special connection to the AACA Museum Inc. Her "Parakeet," a 1977 Cadillac Seville, is part of the museum's collection. The car was a gift to Betty from her husband, Allen Ludden. The story of the Parakeet can be found at http://www.aacamuseum.org/articles/betty-white-and-a-parakeet/.

On Jan. 16, the first 300 museum visitors will receive free admission courtesy of the car's donor, Nick Farrintino of Texas, and the Potomac Region of the Cadillac & LaSalle Club, the car's adoptive organization. At 11 a.m., a reception will be held; refreshments will be available, and guests may get an up-close look at the Parakeet.

White had a deep concern for animal welfare and was passionate about providing resources for animals' care. Community members are invited to honor White by donating to the animal shelter of their choice.
