Action-Impact To Present Annual Easter Egg Hunt

Action-Impact, a nonprofit Christian youth organization located at 80 Vickery Lane, Elverson, will present an Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 3, at 10 a.m. Children in kindergarten through fifth grade will be invited to search the property for plastic colored eggs, which will be filled with candy. There will also be an opportunity for both children and adults to win prizes.

"We hope to put out 3,000 to 5,000 eggs," said Ron Pershall, who leads the all-volunteer Action-Impact staff. "We had donations of candy from R.M. Palmer, Lerro's, Zitner and Goldenberg to fill the eggs, plus prizes, which include candy that is too big for the plastic eggs."

There will also be an egg hunt for parents. Select eggs will contain prizes, including gift cards for several lunches and a dinner at Olive Garden.

Children should bring their own baskets or containers for the eggs. "Everyone is lined up and ready to go (at 10 a.m.). Children (will go) first by ages and then the parents," Pershall noted.

The Easter egg hunt will be held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, the hunt will move indoors.

Also on April 3, the site's new Junior Action Clubhouse for youths in third through fifth grades will be open. The building contains a model of an ark, swinging ropes and ladders that youths can climb on.

"Our Junior Action Clubhouse is complete with a large playground, which will be completed the week of March 29. In the front of the Junior Action Clubhouse there will be lots for the kids to do," said Pershall, adding, "The older kids and staff will be helping with the children."

"My favorite part is when we share the true meaning of Easter through the use of the Resurrection eggs and a demonstration of how God forgave our sins by using clear water that is turned black by use of iodine and back to clear as a cross is placed into the water," he added.

Action-Impact offers weekly meetings for youths year-round. Meetings are held on Friday nights during the school year and on Thursday nights during the summer. In addition to the Junior Action group, Action-Impact offers a Senior High group for students in grades nine to 12 and a Junior High group for students in grades six to eight.

The Action-Impact campus, which is situated on 17 acres, includes an open multipurpose room with a large fireplace and glass windows. The lower level of the building, decorated with photos of the students, includes a game room, meeting rooms and restrooms. The Junior Action Clubhouse is the most recent addition and was built through donations.

Action-Impact is marked by a stone entrance on Vickery Lane, just off Hopewell Road. For more information, visit http://www.action-impact.org.
