Adamstown Library posts activities

Adamstown Area Library (AAL), 110 W. Main St., Adamstown, will host a variety of free programs and events for children and adults. To register, visit http://www.adamstownarealibrary.org/events.

An Easter egg search will take place throughout April. Patrons ages 2 to 15 who check out a book that has a paper egg inside will receive a piece of candy at the circulation desk.

Friends of AAL will host a book sale on Tuesdays in the Community Room from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Story time programs will include Twinkling Stars Baby Story Time on Thursdays for children from birth to age 2 at 10 a.m., Budding Bookworms Preschool Story Time on Wednesdays for children ages 3 to 6 at 10 and 11 a.m., and "The Young and the Restless" Toddler Time for children ages 2 to 3 on Thursdays at 11 a.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Young At Heart, open to people age 60 and up, will be sponsored by REAL Life Community Services on Wednesday, April 19, from 9 to 11 a.m. For details, call 717-336-7797 or visit http://www.reallcs.org.

Doggie Downtime will be offered on April 5 from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. with Twinkle. The program is open to people of all ages.

Tech Q & A will take place on April 5 from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Patrons may drop by the library to get one-on-one help with their devices. Tech help and software training is also available other times by appointment.

Teen Take and Make packet pickup for puzzle pins will be available on Monday, April 17, while supplies last.

A Craft Workshop to create Pysanky wax-resist eggs will be held on Thursday, April 13, from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Almost Perfect Crimes, for teens and adults, will take place via Zoom on Tuesday, April 18, at 6:30 p.m. Participants will receive the Zoom link and the mini murder mystery story when registering. Additional clues and evidence will be revealed during the meeting.

MJWK (Miss Jess Wants to Know) will be held during April with an "Incredible Ice Cream" theme. Teens are asked to stop in the young adult and teen graphic novel section of the library for the question of the month and to cast a vote. Results will be posted on the Facebook page at the end of the month.

Springtime bingo programs will run through Wednesday, May 31. Children's Early Literacy Bingo for children ages 3 to 9 and Self-Care Bingo for youths ages 10 to 18 will be available. Participants may pick up a bingo sheet in the library and return it by May 31 to claim their prize.
