"Advent Tidings" concert set

An "Advent Tidings" First Friday organ concert will be presented on Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. at the historic 1854 First Reformed Church, 40 E. Orange St., Lancaster.

Organist Larry Hershey will play the 1958 analog Allen organ for the program. He will be joined by local French horn player Kristen Albert and local trumpeter Doug Albert. Selections in the 30-minute concert will include "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel" arranged by Christina Harmon, "What Child Is This?" adapted by Paul Halley, and Johann Sebastian Bach's "Wachet Auf" ("Sleepers Awake") from Cantata 140. Kristen will be featured on Daniel Pinkham's "The Salutation of Gabriel," and Doug will perform Robert Ewing's arrangement of "Rejoice Greatly, O Daughter of Zion" from "Messiah" by George Frideric Handel.

The concert is free and open to the community. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. For more information, contact the church office at 717-397-5149.
