Advoz will offer several training sessions on mediation and restorative practices.

Basic Mediation Training will take place on Fridays and Saturdays, Feb. 27 and 28 and March 6 and 7, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at a location yet to be announced. This training aims to equip participants to apply the facilitative mediation model in a range of disputes, with an optional second certificate to mediate with families making challenging transitions in their parenting custody or experiencing a separation or divorce. The session on Feb. 27 will be a Conflict, Communication & Culture introduction course. The other sessions will cover a variety of topics, including mediation models, resolution strategies, and ethics guidelines.

A Family Custody & Divorce Mediation Training will be offered on Wednesday, March 18, online from noon to 4 p.m. via Zoom and in person on Friday and Saturday, March 20 and 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at a location yet to be announced. The training builds on basic facilitative mediation to prepare participants to mediate sensitive family disputes. Through trauma-informed approaches, legal frameworks, and advanced role plays, mediators will learn to guide parents through custody and divorce conversations that prioritize children's well-being, participant empowerment, and collaborative outcomes. The Basic Mediation Training is required to take this course.

A Restorative Circle Process Training will be held from Wednesday to Friday, June 10 to 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at a location yet to be announced. Attendees will learn to build community and address tough issues and harmful incidents in groups of five to 20 people using the restorative circle process.
