Advoz will offer several trainings on mediation and restorative practices.

Conflict, Communication & Culture: Introduction to Mediation & Restorative Practices will be held in a virtual format via Zoom from Tuesday to Thursday, Jan. 20 to 22. An in-person training will also be offered on Friday, May 8. This course is a prerequisite for all other Advoz training courses. The training aims to help participants develop their own conflict style with effective tools for personal, professional, and community situations, as well as introduce language, concepts, and skills of healthy conflict resolution and restorative practices.

Restorative Conflict Coaching for Trauma-Informed Leaders will take place on Wednesday and Thursday, Jan. 28 and 29. The workshop provides a framework and practice to facilitate more effective coaching conversations in participants' personal, professional, and community work, with an emphasis on addressing challenges and conflicts. The training will conclude with an opportunity to practice the process with fellow participants.

Advoz will also offer Restorative Justice Victim-Offender Conferencing Training. Virtual sessions via Zoom will be held from 3 to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays, Feb. 3, 10, and 17, and in-person sessions will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Feb. 19 and 20. Attendees will also need to complete some assignments on their own between sessions. The training will equip volunteers to facilitate restorative conferencing discussions, primarily with youths who have caused harm and those they have harmed.
