Advoz will offer several training sessions on mediation, restorative practices, and conflict resolution.

A Summer Sampler Session: Mediation and Restorative Practices will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 20, from noon to 1 p.m. Attendees will join Advoz trainers for a free virtual sampler session to learn how they can address conflict and harm in their communities, workplaces, organizations, schools, and families.

An introductory Conflict, Communication, & Culture training will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the S. Dale High Leadership Center, 1861 William Penn Way, Lancaster. This course will introduce participants to language, concepts, and skills of healthy conflict resolution and restorative practices. It will include topics such as conflict, harm, and restorative practices; culture and inclusion strategies; and communication and restorative listening skill-building.

Basic Mediation Training will take place from Wednesday, Oct. 8, to Friday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at a location yet to be announced. This training will aim to prepare participants to use effective communication skills and the facilitative mediation structure to help people listen and resolve their own disputes. The course will include conflict resolution skills; listening, reframing, and summarizing; issue identification; practicing the mediation process; coached role play practice with partial and full mediations; co-mediating with a partner; and confidentiality and ethics.
