Alumna to present concert at school

Lancaster Catholic High School (LCHS) Fine and Performing Arts Department will present a concert by Grace Asuncion on Friday, March 31, at 7 p.m. as part of the George R. Schreck '47 and Barbara A. Schober '72 Memorial 2023 Concert & Lecture Series. The event will be held in the Old Main auditorium at LCHS, 650 Juliette Ave., Lancaster.

Asuncion, a member of the LCHS Class of 2015, will present an evening of music featuring two of her favorite percussion instruments - the marimba and the vibraphone. Asuncion is a 2019 summa cum laude graduate of Ithaca College, where she studied with Gordon Stout, Conrad Alexander, and Greg Evans. Since graduation, she has worked with the Binghamton Philharmonic, Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, Pennsylvania Philharmonic, Penn Square Music Festival, and Allegro Orchestra of Lancaster. Currently, she is the manager of artistic production for Astral Artists.

In her concert, Asuncion will perform her own compositions and arrangements of works by Debussy, Wilco, Bach, Stevie Wonder, and others. She will share the stage with some of her first musical mentors - Paul Murr and great uncle J. Albert Schulz. Also featured will be her partner, Zane Carnes, a double bassist and guitarist.

Admission is free, and donations will be accepted for the LCHS Fine and Performing Arts department.
