Artisan Fall Festival will feature vendors, food and family fun

It's never too early to start your holiday shopping, and if you head to the Creatively Lancaster Artisan Fall Festival, you'll support a great cause with your purchase. The festival will be held at High Cross Farm, 1610 Landis Road, Mount Joy, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29. Girl Crush Company and Second Grace will partner with Creatively Lancaster for the festival, with proceeds benefiting Second Grace, a nonprofit organization that supports at-risk single moms.

More than 85 vendors will be on-site, featuring everything from personal care items to home decor. Vendors will include Glue & Stitch, Chocolates By Tina Marie, Aromacology Co., TerrainTextures and Art of the Earth.

Live music will be performed by Sound of Roses on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m., and Joey Pahl will entertain as well. A variety of food trucks will be available, including Crazy Goat Coffee Company, Cupcakes by Casey, Glory Be Farm, Walk-O Taco and Taylor Chip Cookies.

"Something that is very exciting this year is we have kids from Donegal High School's National Art Honor Society who are going to run games for kids," shared Candace Abel, production manager of Girl Crush and president and founder of Second Grace. "They have planned a lot of activities."

The students will host activities, including rock painting, a ring toss, a selfie station, pumpkin bowling and barrel train rides. They will be led by Donegal senior Rayahna Clerico and teacher Nichole Marsh.

"The students have really put a lot of thought into this," Abel said. "It's really fun to have them step up and want to serve the community this way."

Abel noted that Creatively Lancaster and Second Grace have collaborated for a number of years, with Girl Crush products sold at Creatively Lancaster's maker's markets, which are held throughout the county. Girl Crush is a bath and body products company Abel started in 2017. Women in the Second Grace program have the opportunity to work at Girl Crush as part of the program.

Abel added that the Artisan Fall Festival offers something for the whole family.

"It's a unique event, because often when there's a maker's market, that's all there is to do," she said. "At this one, mom can go off and do some Christmas shopping, know she's doing some good with it, and there are lots of things for the kids to enjoy as well. It's family-friendly, and it's supporting a good cause right here locally in our community."
