Birdsboro artist Steven J. White was awarded Best in Show for his oil painting "Sentinel" at the Berks Art Alliance's 43rd annual Open Juried Art Exhibition. The Juror of Awards was Patrick Rogers, a curator and exhibition developer.

White, who is also an accomplished watercolorist, is a Signature Member of both the Philadelphia Water Color Society and the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society and an associate member of the Oil Painters of America.

The Open Juried Art Exhibition will continue at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts, 201 Washington St., Reading, through Monday, Oct. 10.
